Fruit-and-Nut Bread

Since I love bread, my first recipe was a quick bread found on page 843. I did some alterations: I did not have any nuts, or fresh fruit I wanted to add, so I used a canned fruit instead. I think the canned fruit added moisture so I baked it a little longer than the recipe said, and the crust became wonderfully crisp. My roommates' verdict: delicious. It was gone in a day.
