SNAP Budget

I tried to find recipes that were simple and quick, as well as low-cost. This is what I came up with :)
 
Breakfast - $3.45

·         Simplest omelet- (pg 802)

o   10 eggs-$0.80

o   2 tbsp olive oil-$0.35

o   ½ cup diced peppers-$0.70

·         4 slices of bread-$0.40

·         4 cups Orange Juice-$1.20

 

Lunch- $3.08

·         Cheese Quesadilla  (pg 109)

o   4 Tortilla Shells-$0.28

o   1 Cup Cheese-$1.55

o   ½ Cup Scallions-$ 0.50

o   ¼ Cup Green Chiles-$0.75

 

Dinner-$7.52

·         Stewed Chickpeas w/ Chicken (pg 423)

o   4 Cups Chickpeas-$0.30

o   1 Tbsp Oil-.17

o   2 Lbs. Chicken-$5.50

o   1 Large Onion-$0.90

o   1 Celery Stock-$0.10

o   1 Carrot-$0.10

o   2 Cups Tomatoes-$0.45

 

TOTAL= $14.05
